About Me

About Mark Sager

West Vancouver has always been my home and I love it here. My life began in a small suite above my parents’ furniture store in Dundarave before we moved to West Bay where I attended both West Bay and Hillside schools. When I was barely out of my teens, I was elected as a School Trustee followed by Board Chair and elected as a Councillor and  in 1991 I was elected as Mayor of West Vancouver.

I had the honour of serving for six years at which time I decided to step out of public service to help raise our daughter, Mikayla, and to build my law practice in Ambleside. Today, our daughter is a successful opera singer in New York and my business grew and prospered.

In 2022 I was honoured to once again be elected as Mayor of West Vancouver. It is wonderful to be back in service to our community.  I currently represent our community on the Board of Metro Vancouver. I am Vice-chair of the Metro Water committee and service on the Mayor’s committee. I also sit on the Mayor’s committee at Translink and I sit as a member of the Municipal Finance Association.

I am passionate about  skiing,  CrossFit and anything that gets me outdoors or on the water. Some things will never change – West Vancouver will always be my home and I remain committed to working diligently in serving our beautiful community, which we all call home.

Going forward I will also be spending spare time to work with lawyers around the province to lobby for reform to the Law Society.  I hope you will stay tuned, there is a lot to do!
