This is my last interview as the outgoing Mayor in This is my last interview as the outgoing Mayor in 1996. Roger Cayford conducted the interview for the local cable network. We talked about my 19 years in public service and the achievements of our council. I was, and remain, very proud of our time together. So many of the issues then are still pertinent today: development, taxes, traffic and community engagement. In the attached segment, we talk about one of my greatest wishes for our community, which remains the same today and is a big part of my motivation for my run now. If you would like to take a look at the entire interview, please visit the “Back in the Day” tab on my website.

There have been so many people that have helped and encouraged me throughout the years that I plan to honour and acknowledge but this week it seems fitting that I start at the beginning, with my parents, Henry and Shirley Sager. I'm grateful to both of them for teaching me the importance of being a part of your community, to always being respectful, to working hard, to giving back and to enjoy life to the fullest. I miss them both dearly but they continue to inspire me every day. #throwbackthursday

Rod has dedicated much of his life to serving our community and it was an honour to work alongside him for many years on council. This book should be a must read for anyone considering running for public office and for those who love our community!
